MDPV (Methylenedioxypyrovalerone or 3,-4-Methylenedioxypyrovalerone or MDPK) is a psychoactive stimulant which inhibits the reuptake of noradrenaline and dopamine. It is a synthetic cathinone. Naturally occurring cathinone, or benzoylethanamine, is a monoamine alkaloid which can be found in the plant Khat and is chemically similar to ephedrine, cathine and other amphetamines.
